"They are not long, the days of wine and roses" sang the poet Ernest Dowson. Our sentiments, precisely. Which was the suitable day for wine and roses? When will these days be over?What was in any given date? Perhaps nothing much. Perhaps something more than meets the eye.
We go through many important events during our lives. Sometimes we cannot choose the auspicious date eg convocation. But there were also many occasions when we could select the date eg when to register a marriage or when to hold the wedding dinner.
Or a business person might aspire to start his business. But he wanted a favorable date. Not just any old date, nohow.
